Looking back

A year on

Time to look back to December 2022 and thank everyone for their custom, goodwill, and response this year overall!

Having started with a few trusted wear-testers putting the Overall prototype through its’ paces – working outdoors, on film sets, in the garden – came the excitement of first sales. As more people wanted one, slowly the idea for our new Abito venture grew.

Last Christmas was the Abito Overall No.1 Preview ‘at home’ in Joe and Janes with our first small batch. Made by a family run business - expert in traditional garment making skills in India - the quality of the Overall had inspired our friends at Detail Design Studio to create an identity we love.

I love mine! I live in it. Don’t like wearing aprons while I work, this is a brilliant alternative. It looks great too.

The Summer ...

Having dipped our toes into Instagram in March, we launched Abito at Bloom in June – what a highlight for us to be out in public. Being discovered by new customers. Florists, designers, market stall holders, food growers, people who love the horticultural life who found the overall was just what they needed.

Then off on an Abito roadtrip, and to a first Pop-up up in West Cork at Arran St East Schull, adding makers, creatives and visitors to our overall people.

The RDS Dublin Horse Show resulted in even more versatile uses, for showing, dog grooming, small holding farmers and more … people who love a hobby jacket and the country life.

I’m wearing my jackets all the time, people love them.

The Winter …

A time to develop our ideas for what’s next in 2024, and to develop Abito Overall No. 1 online. Starting with Breezy, Simple Things Alpaca - a customer who we met at the Horse Show - and then collaborated with on our instagram Christmas Giveaway!

Coming in the New Year …

Rounding off December with our new product - the Abito x Tolfa leather bag - made for us by our partners in a workshop in Tolfa outside Rome. Sold out our first small batch on instagram, so watch this space, it’s coming online in 2024.

Thanks so much to our wonderful customers, instagram followers, and press who are helping to spread the word in our first year.

Happy Christmas all!

Catherine & Eve Anne
