Overall Makers

All about skills

It was such a privilege to spend time collaborating with the team in India. We loved seeing their extraordinary skills in action in the small family owned factory, in Noida, near Delhi.

Sharing their world of skilled craftsmanship and pattern cutting, sample making, sewing, finishing and quality checking - all happening under one roof.

Working with them we’ve brought our new Abito ‘wearable ideas’ into prototype samples … so watch this space for more from Abito coming soon.

Great people, great skills, and an inspirational country of colour and texture.

— March 2024 our working trip to India!

The crafted details ...

Overall a joy to collaborate with people expert in traditional garment making skills. Using high quality, surplus fabrics sustainably sourced nearby. Our small batch production process means attention to detail, and beautifully crafted utility garments, made to last.

The road trip …

And while there, taking time out to visit the beautiful countryside. The colours, the textiles, the crafts … here’s some of our highlights. Block printing day at Wabisabi project in Bagru; Ekaa Villa secret Taj tour through the fields; waking up with the women of Jaipur on a sunrise Pink City Rickshaw tour; we loved Delhi and where we stayed in Nizamuddin, close to great neighbourhoods, textiles, crafts, and gardens. Best of all the amazing people we met through the local homestays. They introduce you to local guides who share hidden gems. Thanks Hajish and Ramsingh - our top tip is get all the local help you can - it’s a joy!
